Sometimes I drink this tea before bed. It's called Yogi bedtime tea. It is supposed to help you sleep and I swear it works so if you have issues give it a whirl. It's yummy, calming and I just recently noticed that they have insightful little sayings on the tag. I can be slightly unobservant.

SO I decided I must document these awesome sayings and post on blog. And here you have what I shall now call. . .

Key West Butterfly House

I have always wanted to go to a butterfly house and take photos. Well today I had my first shot at it in Key West! I might be obsessed.
One thing I learned is that they keep their houses at about 4 million degrees and 100% humidity. :)
(Ok maybe not quite but that's just what it felt like.)
Not so good to have fog on the camera lens.
Also they breed them there! I didn't get any good pictures of the cocoons through the glass. They had them all in a special room.

Truely a beautiful place to spend an hour or so!

This little guy liked my mom and I had time to snap a few pics. No one was there to capture it when they landed on me! My mom is not so camera savvy. :)

December Challenge Day 31

Day 31- The End of a Year.

And what a year it has been. It has flown by way to fast. I was thinking of writing a "look back on 2011" type post and as I started to think about the past year my head began to spin. As I began to sift through photos it started to spin even more. SO much has happened this year I cannot even begin to sort through it and show it all here in one post. And also I take a LOT of photos. ;) So I have decided to just pick a few favorite events to highlight.

And as I sit and reflect on the past year I am overwhelmed with happiness and my heart feels so full.

Major things have happened this year. I have gained so much…

-courage

- awesome new friends

-support

- confidence

- belief in myself

- knowing without a doubt what I want and need to be doing in life

-the ability to not take things quite as personally

-a feeling of pride in myself

-the ability to be more positive

and the list could go on...

I am now swimming with the current.

hmmm I think I will post a photo that displays each of the things I have gained listed above. Just coming up with this as I go! :)

Leaving retail to pursue my realized dream of a career in photography.

Courage.

I met this lovely little JAM at the job I took after leaving retail. She is such a little positive, creative ball of energy that I am so glad to have in my life.

New Friends.

It's a great thing to feel. If you actively support me you know who you are.

Support.

Meaghan is one of my dearest friends, greatest supporters and most positive people in my life. She has been a huge part of my year and been a part of quite a few of my favorite moments. Just wanted to give her a special shoutout. :)

It's hard to find a photo that portrays confidence. It's a confidence in myself and my abilities. Everything I say, do, represent.

Confidence.

A friend once told me that I can do whatever I put my mind to. I think that's huge and now I believe it.

Belief in myself.

I have been growing and learning everyday since starting this journey and it has only just begun.

Knowing without a doubt what I want and need to be doing in life.

You know when the ones you love the most can hurt you the most? Or a stranger or someone you barely know doesn't like your work or you? It happens. I'm learning to just move on...

The ability to not take things quite as personally.

When I first saw this picture I was totally convinced that little girl was judging me. And I actually cared for a moment. How dumb. That was one of the best days of the summer and created one of the funniest photo sequences ever.

Everything I have accomplished and gained this year has given me the ability to be proud of myself.

A feeling of pride in myself.

I truly believe the universe gives you back what you give it. When I started to look at things more positively, positive things started happening left and right.

The ability to be more positive.

I think it goes without saying that all of these things intertwine together. I wouldn't be where I am now if I didn't gain courage and confidence. Posting things like this makes me extremely vulnerable. A feeling which I've learned to overcome this year. When you put yourself and your work out there you have to. I know some people were born with these things. I don't envy them anymore. What a journey it has been to gain them!

At times, this year, I was so busy that I lost touch with reality or got lost in my computer. I was ALWAYS doing ten different things and I've been obsessed with working I'll admit. Between working (stupid hours might I add) , taking pictures, editing, making or selling my picture frames, craft shows, blogging, Arbonne, spending time with friends and family and boyfriend, refurbishing furniture, estate saling, drinking wine, AAAAAAAAAAH!!!! there was never enough time in the day let me tell you.

I am so excited for the coming year. I'm not planning on slowing down and I know things are only beginning and about to get crazier. I'm ready for it.

A few things I want to learn in the new year…

Day 26 and 27 - Post Christmas Happenings

Yesterday the family and I went to the Dolphin Research Center about an hour south in Grassy Key. It is a great place that uses all the money they earn to maintain the home they've created for these animals. I've always thought dolphins were pretty cool and am fairly certain I could have been one in another life. It's amazing to see how they communicate and learn from the trainers that work there.

But first there were GIANT iguanas. Everywhere.

You can pay extra to swim with the dolphins or have them paint on a t-shirt for you. I would love to swim with them! That's Kaden and my cousin getting a shirt painted by a dolphin named Rainbow !

Then today I went to lunch alone and it was quite peaceful. This gorgeous butterfly was playing in the bushes next to me. I tried to get some shots of it while eating. When I was done I tried to find it to get some closer shots but it had fluttered away….

Day 24 - My Christmas Eve

Today I …..

Went to my very favorite place for breakfast and had my very favorite latte.

Got a lovely surprise in the mail from my aunt and uncle in Cali….

( Try and fit that thing in the fridge when it's already completely full)

Did some last minute shopping with my cousin and came across some awesome things.

I used to want one of these crabs SO bad when I was little.

Some great signage.

We stopped for lunch and cocktails and there was an amazing view. Pretty sure I could have sat in one of those chairs all day.

Took a peaceful walk with my godson and ran into a pretty bird friend.

Caught this awesome face on camera.

Also opened one gift and began watching 24 hours of A Christmas Story. ( Our Christmas Eve traditions)

And had some family meltdowns and fun family time.

Also, if you know anything about me or Key Largo you know Shell World is a hot spot, and a must go to place when on vacation here. Tonight, my mom and I went to just scope out the place. You really need to go at least 3 times while here. First time just to look at everything and take it all in and decide what you may want to purchase. Second, go back and actually purchase those things. Third and last, anything you wanted but couldn't commit to will be purchased on this trip typically taken the day before departing.

This place not only has shells but so many fun gifts and pretty little things.

Turns out shells are the most photogenic….

So I must have taken the weekend off from blogging. I feel bad about it really…..

I'm just so busy! I have so much to do before leaving for vacation one week from today.

Anyway….

Saturday night I went to the ballet. That sounds fancy. My friend Meaghan's brother was in the Nutcracker !!! It was so pretty really. I didn't take any pictures during the ballet mainly because I was mesmerized by all the spandex. ;)

I have a small silver Christmas tree in my room on top of my desk. It just makes things more festive and I got it really cheap when I used to work at West Elm. LOVE that place. Day 3 - One of my Christmas Trees.

This tree is in my parents living room and I added the gifts that are already under it and some of the other pretty decorations that are in the living room. I am participating in something recommended by my creative partner in crime friend, Jordan. It's called Photographing December and you can find it here. I am definitely going to change it and do my own thing but that is the inspiration behind it. I'm hoping that it will help me savor and appreciate the holiday season that much more. It will also help with my goal of taking pictures every day this month. Therefore I am also going to try and post on this blog EVERY day this month. Challenging in itself but with recent personal life changes going on its more than doable. I also need to get this blog somewhat back to personal since starting my new separate photography blog.

Tonight I went to the Lights Before Christmas at The Toledo Zoo. Perfect thing to do to start the month off right.

I love this photo. It captures the midwest perfectly. One day it's fall, next day it's winter. And sometimes it's both. This was the only tree with so many leaves left on it, the rest were bare!

This little cutie turns the big ONE on Wednesday. She was such a trooper during her shoot today. The weather was a bit flakey but we managed to get some non drizzly/half sunshiny time out there. It wasn't until she did a face plant in the dirt about 2.5 hours into it that we decided to call it quits. :)

I was invited to be inside the recording studio to take pics while my friend Aaron's band recorded their new CD today. What a cool experience! I felt like a groupie or like I had some sweet backstage pass. :)

The band is made up of two of my friends, Aaron and Chad. And two new friends, Mark and Ricky.

I can't wait to hear the finished product. The new CD will be titled "This Time Around".

Liela and Lightroom.

I have recently started using lightroom to edit my photos and it has changed my life. I LOVE it and am so obsessed. It is really user friendly compared to photoshop.

Just discovered a fun new preset that I love for these shots of Liela. There are so many great free ones online! They are great because you can choose one for a look that you are going for but still adjust things to make it look just how you want it to.

I have been working on painting a few pieces of furniture for my friend Hana (from previous post) for her baby's room. It has been a labor of love and I am finally done with part of it!

Today I had the pleasure of taking photos of one of my favorite friend couples. Hana and Chad are expecting a little girl on Oct 16th. Name TBD. :) For now, she is Gigi. I cannot wait to meet her. The weather was horrible this morning but someone was on our side and the skys cleared just in time for our shoot.

No editing needed. Hana's skin is always this flawless. She has no idea how gorgeous she is!

Huge difference in quality with the new camera!

Saturday was my first time taking pics of a small baby in indoor lighting so it was a learning experience. Trying to work with the natural light coming in from the windows can be a challenge. Becky was super cool about me practicing and trying whatever I wanted. That's always so nice when you are learning. She had tons of fun props and things for baby girls which was so great!

After the indoor photos of the little one we wanted to go to an apple orchard and get some fun ones of the older one. I have recently been obsessed with the idea of an apple orchard shoot so was pretty pumped. It was a great first apple orchard shoot!

Liela seemed to love my hat and pulled it off quite well.

We're planning a family shoot for these guys later in October. Can't wait to photograph them again!

The great logo debate.

I don't really put a stamp/logo (whatever you'd like to call it) on my photos. Mainly because...

#1- I'm not completely 100% set on a business name

#2- I don't know exactly what I want it to look like

#3 - There are so many that I see that I do not like and I don't want people to look at mine like that.

I understand the importance of them but I really don't like when the logo takes over the photo and is just obnoxious. It completely takes away from the photo.

Therefore, I know I want mine to be really simple, non distracting while still getting the point across that it's my photo. And includes my current obsession of all white capital letters.

I would love to call my photography business JP Photography naturally but sadly there is already a really well known photographer in the area with that name. This makes me really sad because I really wanted my frame and photography businesses to be cohesive. I don't think it makes sense to put JP Designs on my photos though. So until I move somewhere cool I can't use JP Photography and by then I won't want to change my business name. I can't think of anything creative and like the simplicity of just using your name. So that's what I've got so far.

Suggestions welcomed. :)

Also I've still been practicing my editing skills. It's a process. My friend Jordan in the photos below and I are scheduled to have Editing 101 because she's pretty good at it. I guess Lightroom is the way to go. Do any of you use Lightroom?

That's all the ramblings I have on logos and editing for now. Just had to get that out.

Photoshoot at Wildwood (part two) !

Meet Zack and Katie….

I didn't get to spend much time with them because I was shooting them in between the one year old. They were great sports! I did learn how challenging it can be to get someone to open up to you from the other side of a camera in a short period of time. I now know what I need to work on and it was a great experience! They let me try some things I wanted to and I think I got a few great shots of them!

Photoshoot at Wildwood!

Tonight I had what I guess you could call my second "official" photoshoot! The weather was beautiful! My mom's friend's daughter and her son as well as my mom's friends son and his newish wife (phew that's a mouth full!) came out to Wildwood. I was so nervous and rightfully so! It was basically like two sessions in one and I'm not used to balancing that yet. Nor am I used to photographing small children and I have a lot to learn. I let myself get overwhelmed which made me lose my confidence and forget my ideas. I was nervous how they were going to turn out after it was all over but I think I got a few handfulls of really good ones out of the 700 I took. It was a great learning experience that is for sure!

Max (the little guy) was such a cutie and like a typical one year old he did not want to sit still. Instead he wanted to RUN EVERYWHERE. How you get them to sit still is not something I figured out in our two hours together. But he was precious and a little stud in his plaid button downs.

BGSU!

I really should be asleep but couldn't resist sharing some of today. I had such a fun day pretending I was in college again with my friend Jordan. She attends BGSU which just so happens to be the school I attended. :) I was talking about how I missed it so we planned a brilliant day of fun on and around the campus. First I went to a class with her. KIDDING! Who would do that?! No really….

Then we went to lunch at PITA PIT!!!! Which I used to go to at least once a week at 2 am.

I later decided we should check out a place I used to explore on occasion for school projects. I don't think many people even know it exists but it's a pretty awesome place to take photos. It used to be the Wood County Infirmary and has since been turned into a historical museum/park.

Yea AKA old insane asylum. In college I was pretty convinced this place was haunted. Jordan and I had such a blast exploring the grounds that by the time we went to go inside the building it was closed for the day. So I will just have to go back again. I remember there being crazy stuff inside like straight jackets!

Anyway, here are a few cute photos of Jordan that I took as we were playing. :) :) Obsessed with the colors and textures!

The waiting game.

I ordered a new lens for my camera from one of my favorite places on earth, www.bhphotovideo.com. For my photog readers it is a Canon 50 mm 1.8 lens. I went with the cheapest of the 3 like it because of the reviews and my budget. It came today and of course was dropped off by UPS while I was getting ready for work and had no time to open it let alone play. I pondered calling off work for a minute to go to the park and see what it could do. Then I remembered I was a somewhat responsible 28 year old and cried a little while I left it for 9 hours in the box. Needless to say I ripped it open the minute I got home and attatched it to my baby and started shooting…. after I opened the wine. It was a long day of waiting. ;)

Speaking of budgets I really enjoy this wine below. $5.99!!!!

I wasn't really sure what to take photos of at 9 pm in my house so I began exploring the basement where I keep all my collections. Here are some of my vintage cameras and books. I don't really collect license plates but these were my grandparents.

Then I moved onto my collection of vintage Ball jars which happen to currently be stored in one of the vintage crates I collect.

I store my collection of vintage and new buttons that I use on my frames in the Ball jars.

If you don't already know I am obsessed with collecting old things and frequently search out estate and garage sales to find said things. And the reason they are being stored in the basement is because I currently live with my parents. When I move out they will be all over my apt. Don't judge. I have goals. :)

And lastly, a new frame idea I recently worked on. It's a stencilling technique and I love how it turned out. Partly because I'm obsessed with that pattern.

Oh and P.S ! I really enjoy the lens so far and can't wait to see what it has to offer out in the natural light.

Mountain Biking.

I have determined this to be one of the most beneficial, exhausting and crazy workout experiences one can have. Labor Day weekend I traveled to Bear Lake to stay with my friend Meaghan and her family at their lake house. It was beautiful and I never wanted to leave. Well at least not for a week or so. :) But really it was this weekend that I decided I must own a lake house one day and go mountain biking every weekend. My new friend Jen put it well. She said she wants to know a piece of land like this one day. Her dad took a few of us and he made it up the hills so fast he was a mile in front of us while we were walking our bikes up the hill behind him panting. We were in the middle of the woods and it was amazing how we never got lost and he knew exactly where we were going at all times. WOW was it hard. Dodging branches, peddling through sand patches, poison ivy! But I felt all my leg muscles were tighter with just one experience! And it was so much fun.

My Last Mud Hen's Game of the Season!

It feels like I just went to the opening game, I can't believe the season is over already. I only went to a couple games! This inevitably means summer is over already. It FLEW by. Next weekend is the final game and I can't go so we went tonight. The weather was perfect and even though the Mud Hens lost it was a fun time as always. Can't wait till next season!

Flea Market

Last weekend was my first flea market experience. It was lots of fun and somewhat successful! Some friends came to visit and a few even made a purchase which meant so much to me! I do not expect or ask my friends to buy from me but it does make me feel super happy when I get any type of support from them and they like my work enough to buy it! But of course I did make them take a photo with their frame purchases. :)

Rory and his mom who also bought some windows from me for their antique booth ! They redo old furniture like me but are way better at it! Super talented.

This week has been insanely busy. House sitting for a friends family, long days at work, visiting Chris at the golf course and ending the week with my 10 year high school reunion last night. (That sounds so gross when I say it out loud)

I feel like I have't had time for any of my normal activities!

Some highlights from the reunion!

Only 11 people from our class showed up which was really disappointing but what can you do.

What all of our tuition paid for. The new gym that was built AFTER I graduated.

We got to play in the new theatre room which was AWESOME.

US Senior Open at Inverness

The Senior Open is in town!!!!!! I went the other morning during a practice round. I squeezed it in before work so I could take some pics and primarily support my boyfriend who has worked his bum off getting ready for this as the assistant superintendent.

I would have loved to stay there all day and take photos.......

I'm going back tomorrow and Friday but no cameras allowed on those days. Boo hiss.

My dear friend Jordan and his wonderful and gorgeous wife Kristina agreed to let me take photos of them for my portfolio. They were such great sports in the 95 degree heat plus humidity. I can't thank them enough. I wasn't sure if they were going to come over until somewhat last minute because they had plans during the day and it was so stinkin' hot. I was really nervous and felt un prepared when I found out they were actually coming. I was so nervous I wouldn't even really look at the photos to see if they were turning out except to check settings and lighting. I was pleasantly surprised after loading them onto my computer.

Actually I became obsessed. I was pretty pleased with the results. I didn't edit any of them because I was too excited to share. :)

The Container Store is one of the greatest store's on the planet. A must visit whenever I go to Columbus. It's one of those stores you could spend hours in without even realizing. I am slightly obsessed with organizing things and I like things to be in containers. I also like when you can see through those containers. Which I will get to more in a minute...

They have some of the coolest wrapping papers and things ever. But also the most expensive!

Ok, here is the beginning of the clear plastic storage aisles. OBSESSED.

I got the greatest things to store some frame supplies in.

I started storing my shoes in their clear plastic shoe boxes about 6 years ago. They are so amazing.

I had to buy more when I was there. They are awesome and make your closet so organized. I love that you can see the shoes that you are looking for and all of your shoes are in the same type of box.

One of the best parts - the lids don't fall off or cave in like regular shoe boxes!

You can use them for pretty much everything! Which I might do someday.....

I HATE wedding registries but I would be ok with them if everyone had to register here. Sadly I don't think they do registries. They better get on that.

I've been playing with my camera a little this week but haven't had anyone to shoot!

Luckily when I don't have people to take photos of , there is never a shortage of cars around at my parents house. This is Shirley. She's a 1969 Pontiac. My dad normally doesn't name his cars but this one is special. She runs perfectly but clearly her body needs a little work. Make that a complete overhaul. We don't care, we love her anyway. It's the only car my dad has given me free reign to drive. She doesn't have a top, well she does but it's pretty much in shreds. My dad is planning on taking her to all the car shows this summer and acting like she's his pride and joy. Frankly, I don't think he's acting. There's something about this girl.....

Every time I look at her I want to sing the song G.T.O which was sung by many but I prefer Ronny and The Daytonas.

Bachelorette Party Fun!

My friends know how to throw some seriously fun bachelorette parties and last night was no exception. A couple of my friends planned a progressive dinner for our friend Mallory who is getting married in Colorado in July. A progressive dinner is where you start out having appetizers at one house, dinner at the next and dessert at the last house. It was SO fun! Going from house to house kept us from getting bored because we kept changing scenery. And each house offered something totally crazy and fun! Beer pong at the first house, dancing and an amazing dinner at the second, and pin the junk on the hunk at the last house before heading out to club soda for more dancing and ridiculousness!

Our other friend Mari had her baby shower today which we were all in tip top shape for. ;)

Had such a fun weekend with some really fun friends!

My parents had dinner waiting on the table when I got home and I ate so fast I felt sick. I just wanted to open the box and plug in the battery so I could play with it!!!!! I felt like a little kid on Christmas. I had all the pieces everywhere!

You may have heard me talk about on JPDesigns facebook or twitter that I recently found a site that sells the perfect plain wood frames in all different sizes. They are amazing. A dream come true for me!

Just put the finishing touches on the first one. So here it is, the very first of the new collection.

It holds a 4x6 photo. YAY!!!! Can't wait to show you more. I better get to work!

Also, I am extremely obsessed with a website I just came across that has templates to make collages and put photos together like above. I have been trying to figure out how to so in photoshop with no success. It's just so not user friendly! Well thank you www.picnik.com for making my life so easy and for FREE. Though I did upgrade to the premium which I'm thinking is totally worth it.

Emily and Tim came in town Memorial Day weekend and it was so much fun as always.

If you know my best friend/sista, Emily, you know we don't need much to have a good time together. So if you give us a dollar store pair of goofy glasses and a camera, you leave us with hours of laughs and entertainment.

Vintage Schwinn Bicycle

One of the greatest garage sale finds ever. So here's the story...

I had been thinking about buying a bike because I thought it would be a good, fun way to work out after work. I looked at new bikes at a few places and was prepared to spend about $150 to $200 on a nice new mountain bike. I also looked on craigslist to see if I could find a good deal from someone. All I could find were vintage bikes which I was considering buying anyway because I thought one would make a good photo prop.

Then one day I found an add for a garage sale and at the very bottom it said ladies schwinn bicycle. I just knew I had to check it out. I went on the first day right when the sale started and immediately saw this beauty. While I was walking up to the house I realized I had been there before and knew the lady coming out of it. It was an old friend of my parents! We recognized eachother and she asked what I was looking for and I said "A bike!" She said, "Well you can have this one for twenty bucks."

It rides perfectly and is in great shape. Plus it's an awesome antique. Which we all know is right up my alley. I just took a ride on it and I forgot how much fun it is to ride bikes! I haven't done it in years. Such a great, forgotten feeling I am so happy to rediscover!

So there you have it, my new photo prop and workout device in one.

I think I'll call her Schwinny.

Photoshoot with Meaghan!

Last weekend my friend Meaghan was a really good sport and let me shoot her for a few hours! We started at this amazing old house I stumbled across that day that was having an estate sale. Then we went to Toledo Botanical Gardens where there were photographers EVERYWHERE. The guy at the house was super cool and let us explore until the end when we did get yelled at for doing one thing but hey it ended up being a cool shot! I found some great stuff at that estate sale including a vintage Coach purse from when they were made in NYC in the 70s for TEN BUCKS!!!!! The house was built in the 40s and back in the day it was probably the shiz with a pool house and tennis court. It's all falling apart now but I was obsessed with it. But anyway enough about the house and all that for now, back to Meg, she is gorgeous and such a good friend and one of the greatest people I know! And not too difficult to shoot if you ask me.....

Dress Review

I LOVED both of Kate's dresses! She looked flawless and I was happy that she went traditional instead of trendy. It was so classic. Everything about the whole day seemed very traditional so it was fitting. I'm also a sucker for lace on a wedding gown. I could have done without the furry thing over the reception dress, that's kind of gross. But still, she looked STUNNING!

I have always wanted to have curly hair. I probably would hate it if I did because it seems like as women we always want what we don't have. I am sitting here watching SATC and I have always wanted Carries hair circa seasons 3-6 , not so much 1-2. Side note, my dad told me the other day.... "You know real life isn't like Sex and the City, right?" I just laughed and told him I'm sure someone's life was like that. Just because I watch a show and may be slightly obsessed doesn't mean I expect my life to be like that and if I wanted it to be it easily could be. Anyway.... CURLY HAIR, Carrie Bradshaw style....

I didn't read this book but my friend Meg and I went to see the movie last night and it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time! I was immediately captivated by the story and was surprised at the connection between Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson. It's probably my new favorite love story since The Notebook. This is one that I can't wait to see again!

I still might read the book but now I'm afraid it will be too different than the movie.

Mud Hens Opener!

Last Thursday was Mud Hens opening day ! It ended up being nice and sunny but really windy. Which has progressively gotten worse and worse since then! I think their last few games have been cancelled because of the wind and rain. I am ready for a real SPRING!

After a few Shock Tops it felt pretty warm though :)

How do they get the grass so green?! It looks like the middle of summer. Speaking of.... I can't wait until summer games!

when I said I had two really exciting things happen that one day a few weeks ago? Probably not. But now I can finally reveal the other one!!!

So here goes....

I GOT A NEW JOB!

That's right folks, no more Jcrew as of April 23rd. I only have 4 more shifts left there. CRAZINESS!

I am moving on to get my foot into the photography world! I will be working for a studio in Levis Commons in Perrysburg. It is a sales job but I am very confident that I will learn so much about the biz and make new photography friends and that surely can't hurt!

I am so excited for this change in my life. Now that I officially know what I want to do and am finally learning to embrace change instead of reject it. BRING IT ON!

This is me the day I found out. My mom got me those little brownies from Starbucks. YUM!

Ann Arbor - Part Two

I am looking for more opportunities to practice my photography with a subject! Meaning a person or two! So if you are reading this and I know you and you would like to be my practice subject let me know!

I was supposed to have a practice photo session with my friend Meaghan and Jon that day but we went to Ann Arbor instead so I tried to incorporate the two. The result's weren't too great but everything I do now is such a huge learning experience and I love it!

This is a fun little series but their clothing should have been different and ......

This one would be so cute if it weren't a bit blurry.

I would like to do something really cool with this in photoshop.

First of all I need to figure out how to get rid of the car in there! Anyone?

Ann Arbor - Part One

On Saturday a few friends I and went up to Ann Arbor for the day, specifically to go to Zingermans Deli (www.zingermansdeli.com). One of the best deli's I've ever been to. This place is amazing. The cheese selection alone is enough to make my mouth water. I have been there a few times but never on a weekend. The place is under construction which we didn't know and there were about 30 people waiting OUTSIDE in the cold to get into this place. Us girls went to the bakery and got lattes to hold us over while we waited. Best hazelnut latte I've had in awhile.

As usual, it was all worth the wait.

It may have been a little chilly but the sun was out and it was a beautiful day. This place is so much fun to go to in the summer. You can usually sit outside and eat and it's such a cool neighborhood. I hope the construction is done soon!

I have a small obsession with the Kardashians. There is just something about them, and I'm not referring to Kim's behind. Last week when I was in Florida, my mom and I took a day trip to Miami and decided to try and find their DASH Miami store! We did and it was so cool!

It was filled with overpriced goodies that I wish I could have bought. $10 bottles of water, $42 yummy smelling candles, $60 DASH tees and amazing clothes ranging from $150- $400 bucks!!! Holy crap!

The Dash dolls were not so friendly. I get that everyone pretty much comes in there to take pics but you cant do anything about it and you are representing the Kardashians so you could at least act happy about it.

Chris and I had such a great time in the Keys on our vacation last week. I haven't posted any pics because between the two of us we took about 2000. I'm having a very hard time sifting through and just picking my favorites...

Maybe I will just post them in categories. So here are my favorite pictures of Chris. He hasn't been on a real vacation in a long time and it was great to see him relaxed. :)

I am so excited! I just found out one of my favorite bands, Fleet Foxes, is coming out with their second album in the spring. I saw them in concert with Chris in 09' and fell in love with them. Go to the website below to listen to the new single.... it gives me chills!!!!
