Sugarland

Last Thursday I went to see Sugarland with my mom, aunt and cousin. Twas a family affair. :) I like them and all but honestly was kind of just along for the ride. I wasn't waiting in line to buy tickets the day they came out ya know? Well I was SO impressed. They put on a daaaamn good show. This was the first show of their current tour and it has such a great theme! It's called "In Your Hands".  It's all about the audiences participation during the show. They didn't even have a complete set lineup and were taking requests from the audience and online polls they had right before the show. They pulled it off flawlessly and it flowed together so well. They even came out into the audience at one point and gave someone a guitar! They also had a few people up on stage! So fun. I absolutely love the enthusiasm Jennifer Nettles puts into her performance. She is amazing…. and that voice!!!! Dang girl.

These photos are from the actual show, I found them on a local country radio FB page. :)

Also I must say something about the TWO openers they had.

First up was a guy I had never heard of named Canaan Smith. Had an amazing voice but his lyrics were a little bubble gum pop for me. He is apparently a country singer which I wouldn't have guessed until he played his hit currently on country radio. Still cheese but I love.

He's pretty easy on the eyes too. Which I could kind of tell from how far away we were but was proven correct when I googled him.

Moving on to the second opener who I had also never heard of. But if you watched American Idol last season you may recognize her…

Lauren Alaina

I couldn't find any really great pictures of her via google. She was much prettier in person and her hair is no longer two toned (thank god),  it is now blond. This girl has one of the most powerful voices I have ever heard. She was really amazing and a great performer. When she announced she is only 17 I almost fell off my seat.

I listened to some of her tracks on itunes and decided she's much more powerful live.

So anyway if you get a chance to go to any of the shows during the "In Your Hands" tour, DO IT!
